Eleventh Hour Agenda

The Lord has broken the rod of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers, which in anger struck down peoples with unceasing blows, and in fury subdued nations with relentless aggression. (Isaiah 14:5-6).

You have read articles, listened to messages and news headlines. There are many doom and gloom in the end times. But I think that not a lot has been revealed about the blessings of the end times.

Many bible scriptures offer credence to the absolute correctness of the idea that the light of worldly people would be nowhere close to the brightness of the moon. Their clouds will have no silver lining! In the end-times, their light will inversely grow into thick darkness. A Doomsday! Faces white with terror. People in anguish! But that is not the story of Believers in Jesus Christ.

Now watch this, “In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 2:2 NIV).

The main attraction that will magnet people to the Church is nothing else but what God promised to do for His people. In that day there will be “Wine streaming off the mountains, Milk rivering out of the hills, water flowing everywhere in Judah, A fountain pouring out of God’s Sanctuary, watering all the parks and gardens!” (Joel 3:18 MSG). Not to mention the promise of direct wealth transfer. (Haggai 2:6-9)

In the light of these watertight promises we should be encouraged daily to say “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1-2). And this attitude should prompt the following actions:

  1. Rejoice that the endtimes events signal the coming again of Jesus Christ
  2. Receive (by faith) the unparalleled sweetness that awaits believers in Jesus Christ
  3. Reach out relentlessly to win more people for Jesus so they could enjoy the sweetness too!

It’s really cool to see how Jesus incentivized those who worked in the 11th hour. Of course, by idiomatic application, 11th hour represents “last moment” or “end times”. In Matthew 20:1-16, those He put to work in the 11th hour were compensated well over and above their labor. We are in the end times friends! Let’s push the kingdom agenda harder everyday! This is the real outreach!
